Designed by James Barnet, and completed in 1880 is the Neo-Classical Courthouse with its octagonal Renaissance dome, situated in the heart of the city (Russell Street) .
It is Bathurst's most distinguished public building and regarded by the National Trust as
'one of Australia's finest examples of Victorian Public architecture'. .
The west wing is occupied by the Central Western Music Centre, and the east wing is the Historical Society Museum with its collection including Aboriginal artefacts.
