Chifley Dam is 19 km south-east of Bathurst via The Lagoon.
Chifley Dam is Bathurst's main water supply so the area is under the control of a Council Ranger and certain regulations relating to boating must be observed.
There is a Boat ramp near the dam wall.
A wide variety of watersports can be enjoyed at Chifley Dam - they include fishing, skiing, sailing, power boating, canoeing and a safe swimming beach near the Chifley Dam self contained Cabins.
Good fishing can be enjoyed with the choice of fish on your line being - Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Redfin, Catfish.
